Nathaniel Cushing ran an iron works, making anchors in particular, in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. For a time, he also had a store, but he closed that business to concentrate on the ironworks. Later, he was involved in the Pembroke Woolen and Cotton Manufactory. Nathaniel was the son of Nathaniel and Lucy Turner Cushing, born June 24, 1762.
